“In a metal workshop in Winterthur, I discovered an iron tube in 1996. I asked the blacksmith to cut it in half and then weld it back together in an offset position. This is how the idea for a new sculpture was born.
The form stayed with me for years, and the desire grew within me to create a walk-in concrete sculpture from it. I was especially delighted when my home municipality of Trun expressed interest in having the work built on a site they offered. It is an honor for me to leave behind a piece that is accessible to everyone at any time.”
