Fontanapark, named after the freedom hero Benedikt Fontana (c. 1450–1499), was created around 1730, redesigned several times, and restored and reinterpreted in 2006 by landscape architect Guido Hager. In the summer of 2012, the park became a place of art: sculptures by the renowned sculptor Hans Josephsohn, along with works by widely known contemporary Swiss artists, engaged with themes from garden history — such as the mythical Arcadia or the garden as a site of synthesis between nature and art.
